$3.5 million for seafood processor

Corporate welfare is a fishy business in Australia. A couple of weeks ago the Coalition government turned down SPC Ardmona’s request for $25 million of taxpayer money to ‘retool’ their plant. But just days later it approved a grant of $3.5 million of taxpayer money for Tasmanian seafood processor Huon Aquaculture. Coalition targets ARC’s weird and wonderful grants list

The Australian Research Council has been getting some attention recently.
